Accidental Husband Review

“Emma Lloyd has made a career out of her sensible, mature and responsible approach to relationships. She has a hit radio talk show, an impending book deal, and a loving relationship with her fiancé, Richard, a conventional sort-which is precisely what Emma is drawn to. Then Emma finds out that she is already married to a man she’s never met before, a result of a misguided prank that leaves her bewildered and very confused. Worse than that, her plans for the future are now threatened. With her wedding just around the corner, Emma must find the mystery man and obtain an annulment. Emma tracks down her “accidental husband” – Patrick, a charming and handsome neighborhood fireman, with a big secret…that he was behind the “accidental” marriage. Unable to fess up, Patrick goes along with the ruse pretending to be just as baffled as Emma. While at first their opposite approaches to life create much tension and chaos, Emma soon starts to admire his carefree passion for life and doubt her own conservative, button-down views on life and love. As Emma’s wedding draws near, she is faced with the choice between her safe life with Richard or the chance to live in the passionate and spontaneous world that Patrick inhabits.” Taken from

This is a POINTLESS, studpid story, and it’s obvious what’s going to happen from the moment that you step into the cinema. The film is badly done, the script is lacking, and worst of all, it’s cheesy and stupid. Obviously, it has the “stable” guy (who, if you go to, is the favourite of the audience, for plainly obvious reasons), the “outrageously romantic” guy, the “undicieded” woman, who finds hersef in love with the exiting, new guy who is nothing like anyone she’s ever met before! Yay!! then she finds out it’s HIS fault she’s married to him and gets angry, cries and then finds out she STILL loves him.

This film is perfect for its target audience; teenagers who wish to lose themselves in a romantic, unrealistic, stupid make-belief world where it all ends happily… which is worse than a fairy tale, if you ask me, because AT LEAST fairy tales are cartoony and aimed for SMALL kids, which, if you ask me, is all right because, c’mon, who wants a little kid crying in your ear, because it (hate to think of children as she or he, because they hardly have the sense of reason) knows life won’t end happily ever after… which a teenager SHOULD know by now.

In case it’s not obvious, I was shouting at the screen long before it was half-way through the film, and, if it hadn’t been for my friend (who took me to see 27 Dresses-, another romantic comedy, which AT LEAST was well done, and had SOME sadness in it) , I would’ve left the cinema immediately…  SHOUTING :–)

Btw… here are the ratings:

* Screaming out of the cinema

** Is it a film or a sleepover?

*** Could be better, but it’s worth the cash

**** Surprisingly, I enjoyed it

***** A film to remain in my memory for years to come :–)
